Back in 2018, there was a big snowstorm that knocked our electricity out for about seven days.
We had no electricity to run the stove, refrigerator, or furnace.
Luckily, we had lanterns to run at night, survival food to use for meals, and emergency blankets to keep warm.
We had a 7-day survival kit which had a temporary stove we could use to heat things with. The survival food we had only needed hot water and to be mixed. We also had instant coffee. Normally we use brewed coffee but because of no electricity, we could not do that. As far as I am concerned, coffee is really important - brewed or instant. Amazing how caffeine lifts the spirits in tough times.
Future Prep Now was created due to this snowstorm. We definitely found out how much we relied on electricity for everything we enjoyed. Losing power does not happen often but due to the length of time the power was out, we found out how easy it is to take things for granted.
